NORTH SMITHFIELD SENIOR SESSION AT CHASE FARM RHODE ISLAND
Aline’s North Smithfield senior session at Chase Farm in Lincoln, Rhode Island was about more than photos. It was about creating an experience that matched her personality, her style, and the confidence she carries into her senior year.
ALINE’S NORTH SMITHFIELD SENIOR SESSION AT CHASE FARM RHODE ISLAND CELEBRATED HER UNIQUE STYLE, MATURE PERSONALITY, AND WILLINGNESS TO CHOOSE A SESSION THAT FELT LIKE HER. FROM A FLORAL DRESS IN THE FIELDS TO DANCE SNEAKERS AND PHOTOS WITH HER LONGTIME BOYFRIEND, EVERY DETAIL REFLECTED WHO SHE IS.
Last week, I photographed one of my first Class of 2027 seniors, Aline Girard from North Smithfield High School. And right away, I knew this session was going to feel different.
Her mom reached out to me, and I immediately recognized the family. I knew her husband from my years working as an operating room nurse before moving into school nursing.
We talked for quite a while during that first conversation. Aline wasn’t there yet, so I learned about her through her mom’s stories first.
Then I met Aline.
And honestly, she stood out right away.
She had the kind of conversation you usually have with someone older. She was thoughtful, responsible, comfortable sharing her ideas, and completely herself.
That matters.
Senior sessions aren’t about fitting everyone into the same mold. They’re about asking, “What feels like you?”
Aline had a clear sense of who she was, and I loved that.
She wasn’t looking for the same outfits or locations everyone else chooses. In fact just the opposite. She wanted something with open fields, a farm feeling, and space that matched her personality.
That’s exactly why we chose Chase Farm in Lincoln, Rhode Island.
The wide-open areas and tall grass gave us the setting she pictured. It gave her room to move, talk, laugh, and just be herself.
Why did Aline choose a farm setting for her senior photos?
Because the best senior sessions start with the person, not the trend.
Aline wanted something different from the standard choices. She wanted a place that felt natural and relaxed.
The location became part of her story.
We talked through outfit ideas before the session, and she chose pieces that felt completely connected to her vision.
Her first outfit was a long flowing dress with a tiny floral print. It fit the setting she imagined and brought together the details we had talked about before arriving.
Then she switched things up.
Her second outfit was a cute romper paired with the white sneakers she wears for dance practices and recitals.
And that detail right there?
That’s what makes senior photos personal.
Those sneakers weren’t just an accessory. They were part of her life.
They showed another side of Aline, the dancer, the student, and the person who knows what feels comfortable.

The weather decided to challenge us too.
We scheduled her session during one of the biggest heat waves New England had seen. Temperatures reached the high 90s with humidity making it feel close to 100 degrees.
Not exactly the easiest day for a senior session.
But when I asked if she wanted to reschedule, Aline simply said she’d be fine.
And that response told me a lot about her.
She showed up ready.
I brought my senior survival kit with everything needed to help keep her comfortable during the heat. We took breaks, refreshed when needed, and worked through the warm afternoon.
Because here’s the thing.
The weather doesn’t define the session.
The person does.
